The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 24 represents more than 2,000 electrical workers from the Baltimore area and the Eastern Shore of Maryland who work in every phase of the electrical industry and have united to elevate the employment, moral, intellectual and social conditions of ourselves, our families and our communities.

We are a proud group of inside electricians, maintenance electricians, sign workers, test technicians and voice-data-video technicians who pride ourselves on being the finest craftsmen in the world. Whether it is our apprenticeship program, intermediate journeyman upgrade or journeyman classes, our training is unparalleled in the industry and is conducted in a state-of-the art training facility – allowing us to answer the high demand for skilled electrical workers.

Members of I.B.E.W. Local 24 also take on active roles in the community, volunteering their time at area churches, schools, recreation councils, community organizations and Scouting events.

It’s a formula started by our predecessor – I.B.E.W. Local 28, which was chartered on October 1, 1900, and served the city of Baltimore and surrounding counties until August 1961, when Local 24 received its charter – and it still works today!
