Local News IBEW Local 24 Members Give Back May 11, 2026

A huge thank you to all the brothers and sisters of IBEW Local Union 24 who came out to represent our local during Mayor Brandon M. Scott’s 2026 Spring Cleanup in Baltimore City.

This year’s project gave our members a unique opportunity to partner with the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture & Entertainment to help revitalize areas along Highway 83. Apprentices and journey-level workers from Local 24 joined fellow volunteers and members of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 486 to make a real impact in the community.

Throughout the day, volunteers swept and shoveled, picked up trash, painted over graffiti, and worked together to prepare an entire I-83 on-ramp retaining wall for future community murals. Our crew put in the hard work getting the walls ready for talented local artists to transform the space with new public art installations. Members even had the chance to work alongside several murals already completed in the area, making the project especially rewarding.

The newly prepped walls can now be seen along I-83 South between North Charles Street and St. Paul Street, fresh canvases ready for Baltimore artists to bring to life.

Projects like this are a great reminder that IBEW Local 24 members are not only building careers and infrastructure, but also helping build stronger communities throughout Baltimore. We are proud to continue giving back and showing what union solidarity looks like both on and off the job site.
